  1. Sweet

this is a sweet rig right here. Plenty of detail and just another stellar item in my collection. I am gonna need a bigger curio!

  2. Can't Ger Enough!

There is already a thorough review if the Henrico County Engine 4 so I will not post duplicate information. I find that the fit and finish of this model is superb. The decoration is dead on and it is my favorite of all of the TWH Quantums made to date. This is my third Henrico model and it joins engines 10 and 21 in my collection.

  3. Quantum Leap

Posted by Mike Slepetz on 25th Feb 2011

This (along with Henrico E21) was my first TWH fire apparatus purchace. Thanks to the incredible detail and quality, it surely was not my last!

This model replicates the Pierce Quantum pumpers delivered to Henrico County Fire in Virginia in 2006. It is a stunner. Fit and finish were, as usual for TWH, flawless. Details, paint and graphics match those in several photos I have on hand of Henrico's '06 Quantums. I especially like the painted steel rims on this model. It gives it a more "rugged" look.

Speaking of details, the model is replete with intricate pump panel including discharges, Federal Q siren recessed in the front bumper, excellent Whelen lightbar, flush mounted supplemntary warning lights, "go light" (unit mounted on the front of the cab to trigger traffic signals), A/C condensor, scene lights
telescoping and rotating Night Scan light tower, nicely done hose load and crosslays, deluge gun, nylon hosebed cover, axes, cans of foam concentrate and much more.

The cab interior is beautifully detailed with accurate seats with cloth seatbelts and Pierce emblems.

The cab tilts up to display a detailed diesel engine, battery boxes, exhaust, etc. You can even see details of the pump itself through the bulkhead of the pumphouse when the cab is tilted.

The model features a fully-sprung functional replica of the TAK-4 proprietary suspension system marketed by Pierce. The truck has the correct high "stance" that TAK-4 equipped rigs exhibit. The front axle is sterrable.

The rear ladder rack swings down for firefighters to access the multi-section extendable roof ladder.

There are abundant etched parts on the model including steps, vents and radiator grills. The replicated diamondplate on the bumper and pumper body is well defined and in scale. All light lenses are of clear or tinted plastic save for the tank indicator lights on the cab side which are tampo-printed.

All graphics are sharp and legible, including miniscule warning labels and pump panel gauges.

The only two discrepancies I found on this model (and E21 as well) were minor. The placement of the flush-mount warning light on the cab side to the rear of the jumpseat doors should have been located above the white body stripe; and at the time this model was released, the only engine in Henrico that sports a bell on the front bumper is E10. These in no way detract from a museum-quality model.

Fans of Pierce apparatus should not hesitate to add this one to their collection.
