MAN TGS 8x4 Concrete Mixer - Donau-Mortel

By: Steven Downes

Presented here is a limited edition 1:50th scale MAN TGS 4-axle truck with mixing body.

The metal mixing drum is heavy, adding the the substantial feel of the model with a smooth rotating motion. the rear chute can be rotated left and right while the access ladder to the observation platform can be folded down. Non functional chute extensions are mounted to the chromed covers above the rear wheels and a water drum and hydraulic motor housing are present on the mixer frame.

Both front axles have functional steering with authentic looking road tread tires which are also modelled on the rear wheels which are mounted to simulated suspension struts with a drive shaft connected to the axles and transmission.

The doors of the cabin have shaped handles with rear view, offside and front safety mirrors fixed to the frame. The cab has a roof window allowing light into the cab to highlight the internal detailing with chromed air horns, amber beacons and two radio aerials fitted to the roof.

One nice addition is the small platform above the front wheel arch which has a dimpled surface, complete with a safety grab rail along the side of the roof while the access steps leading up to the cab have an anti-slip texture. Even the air intake has an intricate pattern of holes embedded into the surface. Air tanks and a large fuel tank are fitted to the frame between the front and rear wheels with a structure, complete with MAN printed logo offering side damage protection to the air bottles, just like the full sized truck.

The bumper has integrated headlights with clear plastic lenses along with an authentic printed number plate and MAN logo prominently displayed across the front grill, complete with chromed highlighting. The exhaust stack rises up behind the cab and is topped with a black highlighted cap, supported with a black metal frame.

THIS MODEL IS 1ST CLASS QUALITY AND AT A GREAT PRICE - DONT KNOW HOW YOU DO IT !!

Hi guys. Britt from diecastmodels.co.

Today we have the MAN TGX 8x4 concrete mixers. We have them in the Willibald, the Nieuwpoort, the Matthai, the Donau-Mortel, and the Triplus. They're all made by NZG in 1/50th scale. Let's take a look.

These feature rolling rubber wheels and four axles. The front two axles steer tandemly, and the wheels sit on detailed resin hubs. The resin hubs on the steerable axles are different than the ones that are non-steerable.

At the front of the truck, there is the MAN emblem, and on top there are two amber beacons along with an aerial. Also on top of the operator's cab there are two chrome air horns along with a sunroof.

The interior of the operator's cab is very detailed. It features the driver's seat, passenger seat, the detailed console, and a steering wheel.

On both sides of the operator's cab there are integrated side steps that have anti-slip texture on them. Directly behind the operator's cab there's a replicated exhaust pipe, and directly behind that there's a water tank.

The drum on these models are made completely out of metal, and they spin freely. There's the rear discharge that actually pivots. On the side of both rear fenders there are shoot extensions, but they don't come off.

On the side of the model, there's also a folding access ladder that would lead up to a platform.

Once again these are the MAN TGX 8x4 concrete mixers in the Willibald, the Nieuwpoort, the Matthai, the Donau-Mortel, and the Triplus liveries. They're made by NZG in 1/50th scale.

You can get yours today at www.diecastmodels.co.

Thanks for tuning in. You'll see me next time.
