Doosan Moxy MT 31

by: Steven Downes

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Doosan Moxy MT31 articulated dump truck from NZG. The model is based on the original Moxy MT31 casting that was released several years ago and has been painted in the distinctive orange colours of Doosan with updated markings.

The model is highly detailed with scaled grab rails on each side of the body with integrated rear view mirror poles that have reflective surfaces. Simulated anti-slip panels have been printed on the walking surfaces leading up to the cab and mesh light guards are fitted over the front work lights.

The cab interior has been replicated and is visible through the clear windows. The edges of the windows have been highlighted black to simulate the rubber seals which adds to the realism and the rear window has a printed mesh screen.

The dump body raises to a good heaight and the cylinders are stiff enough for the body to remain in the position chosen.

The underside of the body has simulated wear pads highlighted in black and tiny chains fitted to the rear tailgate.

The tailgate is a nice touch on the model and functions very accurately, with the chains tightening as the body raises before the tailgate slowly raises to expel the load.

The wheels have highly detailed hubs and are fitted to axles that have a simulated suspension system allowing the model to demonstrate the excellent off-road mobility of the MT31. The tyres have a very crisp tread pattern moulded into them and the chassis has a simulated safety bar fitted.

The underside of the model features a replicated drivetrain to the rear axle with a detailed front suspension linkage with the frame achieving a good degree of steering movement. This is a very good update to the original model and there is hope that Doosan look to have more 1:50th scale models produced in the future.

It's one of a kind. The color stands out and the body is solid. Ought to have one if you are a collector. It's not a TWH but details are there.

  2. A solid and very appealing model

This is a very nice model, both in terms of functionality and curb appeal. I really like the color scheme and the very sharp decals, both extremely well applied and finished as you would expect from NZG. Metal mirrors would have been nice, but the plastic ones do look reasonably good and are actually reflective, which is a nice touch. Overall, this is a great addition to my collection that I am very pleased to display.

Hey guys, Brit from DieCastModelss.co here. Today we have the Doosan Moxy MT31 made by NZG in 1:50 scale. Let's take a look.

This model features rolling rubber wheels, and the wheels sit on a hard resin rim. Each rim shows the bulkhead detail, and they look excellent.

On the front is the Doosan Moxy symbol. There are also headlights, grab rails, and step sides. There are also side mirrors, and along the side of the operator's cab there are black anti-slip walkways that are well replicated.

The interior of the cab features the operator's seat, one seat only, and the steering wheel. Behind the operator's cab the silvered exhaust pipe looks very good.

The frame articulates, so it spins all the way around, which I don't think you'd want to do in real life. You'd probably get hurt pretty bad. You don't want that.

There are also replicated hydraulic cylinders so the truck can turn on a tight radius. The cylinder jackets are made out of a hard resin and they work very smoothly. They look great.

There's also a functioning dumper box, and the dump box functions with the tailgate. The tailgate's attached to two chains. So, when you open the dump box the tailgate opens, and when you lower the dump box, the tailgate closes.

On the underside, you can see there's the rear differential and the drive shaft. The rear axle is a tandem floating axle. So, rough surface riding, it's pretty cool.

The decals look great along both sides of the bed along with both sides of the cab. The MT31 emblem is on both sides of the cab. And, the high line is by the gas tank.

Once again, this is the Doosan Moxy MT31 made by NZG. You can get yours today at www.DieCastModelss.co. Thanks for tuning in. It's time to roll out.
